Hey, just curious: do you see a therapist or not?
This space exists because I didn’t simply want to describe what and how psychological paths could help. I wanted the testimonials to do it: the thoughts of real people, not just theories from textbooks.
This space was born with the desire that each of you, reading them, may recognize yourself in someone, share an idea, or even feeling totally in disagreement may in any case get closer to psychology, find something that resonates with your own experience and that prompts reflection.
It is important to remember that psychology is not only for those going through difficult times, but is a powerful tool for mental wellbeing and personal growth in general.
“I wouldn't know where to start”
Paolo“No, I don't. It's not comfortable. My feelings are mine and other people's are their own.”
Alyssa“I had panic attacks. I felt I had lost control of my life. And when I finally found the courage to ask for help, I was reborn.”
Ludovico“It was my turning point. Before, I swept the dust under the rug; after the first sessions I had to shake it out hard in the sun. The rug. And my heart. So much pain, so much courage. But so much rebirth.”
Angelo“Therapy is expensive!”
Andrea“I need someone speaking my mother tongue but at the same time someone who knows the American life to help me express myself.”
Lia“Making time for therapy is hard.”
Jennifer“It's a long journey; I'd surely get tired and quit after the first sessions.”
Clara“It's not popular/common to have a therapist among my family and friends, so I never considered it.”
Mary“Like everything, it's hard to start, mostly because you don't know what to expect. And in the end you think: why didn't I do it sooner? It's absolutely the best money I've spent.”
Tommaso“I kept thinking I was wrong. But I wasn't. I learned to love myself only thanks to therapy.”
Samuele“I don't have time to see a psychologist, and I'd rather do other things, like a run in the park.”
Matteo“No, nothing is wrong with me.”
Kate“I'm embarrassed by the idea of telling a stranger my business.”
Giulia“The first months were hard, every session was practically work, you feel emptied inside. It was tiring, but I was happy.”
Giuseppe“The right key to reading my past. Digging into the words and unspoken events on which my existence had wrongly been built.”
Alberto“Treatment for mental health is something you don't want to share with people around you in my culture.”
Joshua“I'd like to start.”
Lucia“Yes, and I'm afraid my family will find out. They wouldn't understand and would think I'm crazy.”
Fede“A liberating journey. A long, unending search for who I was, what I really wanted and what I expected from life.”
Marco“In front of a mirror with ourselves, telling ourselves the truth, with no one judging what you do.”
